Petro Poroshenko called on the Ukrainian authorities to immediately stop the transit of Russian oil to Hungary through the Druzhba oil pipeline, as it provides the Russian Federation with financial income for waging war, and Trump demands the same.
The press service of Eurosolidarity writes about it.
The leader of “European Solidarity” (EU) announced that his party registered a draft resolution of the Verkhovna Rada on stopping the transit of Russian oil through the territory of Ukraine. The politician emphasized that Ukraine cannot continue supplying Russian oil to Moscow when Western partners are imposing sanctions against Russia’s energy sector.
According to Poroshenko, every day of operation of “Druzhba” brings the Russian Federation approximately 25 million dollars of European money. In total, over a year and a half, Russia received 10 billion dollars.
“These are TEN MILLION drones that kill the Ukrainian army and the Ukrainian people. This is the price of postponing this extremely important decision,” the EU leader explained.
Poroshenko also noted that it is necessary to check why the sanctions of Ukraine against the Russian companies Lukoil and Rosneft are not observed, because the lion’s share of the oil that is pumped belongs to them. In addition, the politician emphasized that Ukraine cannot ignore the demand of the USA, which publicly appealed to Hungary to stop buying Russian oil.
Poroshenko demands to put the resolution on the suspension of “Druzhba” to a vote in the parliament.
Earlier, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski, in a discussion with the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijarto, wished that the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert Brovdi (“Magyar”), “disabled” the Russian oil pipeline to the country.
MOL’s refineries in Hungary and Slovakia, with a combined capacity of 14.2 million tons of oil per year, depend on supplies of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.
