The influx of Ukrainian refugees to the Czech Republic has increased in recent months. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic, the number of issued permits for temporary protection has increased significantly: if until September, an average of 1.5 thousand permits were issued per month, then in two months this indicator increased to 3.1 thousand. The main reason for this was the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to allow young men aged 18-22 to travel abroad without obstacles. In September, a record 13,500 permits were issued.

The number of Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic is approaching 400,000. Despite political changes in the country, the attitude towards refugees in the labor market should remain unchanged. As previously reported, by the end of 2025, it is planned to close the center for Ukrainian refugees in Vienna, designed for 200 people, through which about 9,000 Ukrainians have passed.
In addition, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder emphasized in a recent interview that Germany plans to end state aid for Ukrainian refugees. This indicates a change in the policy of EU countries regarding refugee support and may have consequences for Ukrainian citizens seeking protection and support outside their country.
