“This update, in particular, includes components of the 9M727 Iskander-K cruise missile, the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile, the North Korean KN-23/KN-24 ballistic missile, and the Hieran-2 (Shahed-136) attack UAV,” Ukrainian intelligence said in a statement.
The HUR clarified that these weapons were used by the enemy on the night of October 22 during a massive combined air attack on the Ukrainian energy industry and peaceful cities.
“Against the background of the news about the success of localization, Russian missiles and drones continue to fly on chips of American, Chinese, Swiss, Japanese, Taiwanese and other foreign manufacturers,” the administration noted.
At the same time, two of the six types of weapons used in this attack came to the Russian Federation thanks to the support of its strategic partners, Iran and the DPRK. The GUR noted that this highlights the risks to regions far beyond Europe, particularly the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East.
“Today’s update confirms that current global practices of export control and mechanisms of interaction between countries need to be revised and improved in response to the new challenges of wartime,” added the intelligence.
The “Components in Weapons” section contains information on almost 5,200 components in 179 weapons and is designed to help the civilized world in the technological disarmament of aggressors.
At the beginning of September GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine made public information on more than 100 foreign components identified in drones and missiles that the Russian Federation uses against Ukraine.
