The UK will provide additional assistance to Ukraine with air defense systems (ADF), missiles and the production of interceptor drones, while France has promised additional Mirages.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in his address.
Separately, the President thanked France for the decision to provide Ukraine with additional Mirage fighters and air defense missiles.
Zelenskyi also announced new decisions regarding contributions to the PURL program from Finland and Spain.
“This is a program to buy American weapons – the same missiles for the Patriots.” We are clearly working on this,” the President noted.
According to him, Ukraine continues to work on obtaining the Patriot air defense system, in particular through a conversation with the Chancellor of Germany and negotiations with other European partners. In addition, new projects of joint production of weapons with Europeans are being prepared.
In the near future, Ukraine will receive Swedish Gripen fighters, as well as additional F-16 and French Mirage aircraft.
Ukraine received the first American F-16 fighters in August 2024.
