Utility services are working non-stop, but the system cannot be restored yet.
According to experts, after the repair of one section of the network, new breakthroughs occur in other places. Engineers explain that this is a consequence of the wear and tear of the pipes, a large part of which has not been changed since Soviet times.
Due to the high load and old materials, the network cannot withstand the pressure, so accidents happen even in recently renovated sections.
The city authorities assure that they are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation. According to preliminary estimates, Lviv needs about 10 billion hryvnias for the complete modernization of the water supply system.
The City Hall emphasizes that without a large-scale renovation of the pipelines, such accidents may be repeated. For now, utility companies are urging residents to wait patiently for the work to be completed and promise to restore water supply in the coming days.
