In Lviv, for three days, the biggest accident in recent years at the water main has been eliminated. Part of the city has been without water supply for three days.

The company admitted that they faced the biggest challenge to the city’s water supply system in recent decades. They informed there that even veterans of the enterprise do not remember situations when part of Lviv was without water for three days, and repeated accidents did not allow to stabilize the supply.
“This morning we completed the repair work and restored the water supply to the city. They began to fill the system, because after the accident, more than 30 km of highways and large reservoirs were completely emptied. This will take 7-8 hours – gradually, so as not to damage the network,” the message says.
“Lvivvodokanal” noted that they made maximum efforts, adjusting the pressures, in order to supply people with water at least up to the first floors. However, during this process, the pressure at the pumping stations dropped dramatically.
“As it turned out, due to new damage to the water main in the area of the village of Domazhyr, on the other side of the river from the place where the previous accident was eliminated yesterday,” the post said.
Currently, emergency crews are already working on site, and the management of “Lvivvodokanal” and the city have gone to the site of the new damage to coordinate the work. These works continue without interruption.
“Lvivvodokanal has never faced such a challenge. The staff is working at the limit of possibilities – people do not sleep for the second day. We understand the indignation of the residents of Zaliznychny and Shevchenkivsky districts, who have been without water for the third day. But we sincerely ask you not to direct your anger at the workers, who today are doing everything possible and impossible to ensure that the city has water again,” the company said.
They also added that the work of the water trucks continued. Water will be delivered until the centralized water supply is restored.
We will remind that Lviv has started large-scale tests of alternative energy supply systems, which will last three weeks.
The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, announced that Lviv is postponing the start of the heating season for several weeks due to Russia’s massive shelling of the energy infrastructure.
Lviv also started testing Swiss trams.
