On July 14, the United States and NATO concluded the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) agreement, which provides for sending American weapons to Ukraine at the expense of European countries, and NATO coordinates the process.
According to the reports of the general secretary of the alliance, Mark Rutte, in the first months after the launch of the PURL project, it was possible to collect more than 2 billion euros. First of all, these funds are used to purchase weapons and ammunition that are not produced by European gunsmiths. Among them are air defense systems.
According to Rutte’s latest data, half of the NATO member countries – 16 countries – have joined the initiative. At the same time, France, Britain, Poland, Spain and Italy are not among them.
