Oleksandr Kosenko, head coach of the Ukrainian national futsal team, commented on the results of the draw for the 2026 European Championship. His words are cited by the official website of the AFU.

“I am often asked whether we are satisfied with the results of the draw or not. I will say that there are no easy teams now. We played friendly games – both with Lithuania and the Czech Republic – there were very difficult matches. The national team of Armenia also showed that it is a very serious opponent.

Everyone will be preparing, every opponent will be even more focused on us after the World Cup. Therefore, we need to prepare very seriously. We do not expect easy matches. We expect very serious opposition from other teams, so we will prepare very carefully,” Kosenko said.

The European Futsal Championship will be held in Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia from January 21 to February 7, 2026. The national team of Ukraine has entered group B, where its opponents will be Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Armenia.
