Russian dictator Vladimir Putin plans to provoke a humanitarian disaster in Ukraine this winter, using strikes on energy infrastructure and pressure on the civilian population.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi during a meeting in London with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer.
The British Prime Minister, speaking next to the Ukrainian leader, assured that Great Britain remains absolutely committed to supporting Ukraine and countering Russian aggression.
“We see an absolute reluctance from Putin to engage,” Starmer emphasized.
He also noted that important steps forward were taken this week, including increasing economic pressure on Russia due to its oil and gas exports.
Zelensky, in turn, emphasized that the actions of the Kremlin are aimed at destroying the Ukrainian energy system and creating a humanitarian crisis, in order to deprive people of heat, light and stability during the winter period.
The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a meeting with the head of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, during which the leaders discussed key issues of support for Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated the need to further strengthen support for Ukraine from partners, primarily in the field of security and defense.
