“Ukrzaliznytsia” reported on complications in the movement of trains against the background of the strike of the Russian Federation

On the Sumy direction, the movement of a number of trains has been hampered due to the threat of an airstrike, Ukrzaliznytsia reported in the morning of October 23.

“Rolling stock and railway infrastructure were damaged as a result of shelling. Two employees of the locomotive brigade were hospitalized for examination. There is no voltage in the contact network in some areas of Sumy Oblast. Trains No. 144 Rakhiv – Sumy and No. 787 Tereshchenska – Kyiv have been suspended until the security situation improves. The delay time will be notified additionally,” the message reads.

Also, according to “UZ”, suburban train No. 6888 Sumy – Lebedynska is delayed for departure for an indefinite time, changes have been made to the routes of suburban traffic: train No. 6012 will run on the route Sumy – Trostyanets-Smorodyne (instead of Vorozhba – Trostyanets-Smorodyne).

Combined traffic is used in the region: bus + train, due to the lack of voltage, a number of suburban flights will run with delays, the company added.

In addition, as reported by Ukrzaliznytsia, in the Dnipropetrovsk region and Kharkiv region, due to increased danger and lack of tension in certain areas, there are possible route changes and delays of up to 1.5 hours in suburban flights.

Russia is systematically attacking Ukraine’s railway infrastructure in an attempt to paralyze logistics, including the transportation of military cargo.
