“In the near future, we will invite the head of the Ternopil regional military administration, the acting head of the Ternopil TCC, as well as the leadership of the Ground Forces of Ukraine and the National Police in a narrower circle, so far in a closed mode,” Tsymbalyuk said.
According to him, the commission wants to establish whether the head of the oblast’s defense staff and the head of the military administration knew about these events, because, according to the available information, coordination meetings were regularly held in the oblast with the participation of TCC representatives.
“I am interested in the role of the head of the regional defense staff, the head of the military administration before these processes. Because as far as I know, a meeting was held every week, including with a representative (TCC),” said the deputy on the air of the Svoboda Live program.
The People’s Deputy added that the TSC will check all the circumstances, in particular, the very initiative of the Ternopil TCC regarding the involvement of combat units to work in the region, as well as the actions of law enforcement agencies. After all, as the deputy emphasized, he does not know of “any regulatory document that allows this.”
On October 15, the police of the Ternopil region reported the detention of seven servicemen suspected of kidnapping, torture and extortion. According to the investigation, among the victims were both civilians and military personnel undergoing rehabilitation. The police did not specify which unit the soldiers belong to, but later a message appeared on the social networks of the Third Separate Assault Brigade that the brigade is open to cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
