It is noted that this is an aircraft-type drone. In terms of size, it is inferior to “Shaheda” or “Geranium”, the flight range is only 100 km, and its engine is electric. The specifications given in the brochure indicate that the drone can fly at a speed of up to 120 km/h (cruising) and accelerate to 170 km/h. The take-off weight reaches 10 kg, the weight of the warhead is 2 kg.
A ground mobile station has also been created for the UAV, which can receive a video signal at a distance of up to 40 km.

According to Boryslav Lazarov, the production organizer at the drone workshop, the assembly of one Samjet UAV lasts from three days to a week.
It is also known that the production of kamikaze itself began in 2023, although the volumes are not very large.
“We started developing kamikaze drones two years ago. Currently, we produce about 50 units per month, but we have the opportunity to triple this number,” said Veneta Popova, who manages the production of drones at the plant.
And the owner of the plant, Petro Georgiev, noted that now interest in the company’s strike drones and its anti-drone combat equipment is growing. The reason is simple – Europe drew attention to the “war of drones” because of the hostilities in Ukraine.
But while Brussels announces a “wall of drones” to protect NATO’s flanks, the place of the Samel-90 plant in the EU’s defense strategy remains uncertain.
“Everything depends on the Bulgarian government,” says Georgiev.
At the same time, EW systems produced by “Samel-90” are currently sold to India, Egypt and “other eastern countries” much cheaper than the cost of Western European products using the same technology.
Note that the plant is located to the south from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and began its activities in the 1960s developing electronics for the Bulgarian army.
We will also remind you that earlier Ukrainian specialists helped to create an analogue of “Shakhed”, which will be produced in three countries. We are talking about a drone Artemis which will be produced in Ukraine, the USA and Germany. UAV has a flight range of over 1,600 km, can carry a warhead weighing up to 40 kg, and is also capable of operating without GPS using AI.
