New generation of drones “Sea Baby” https://www.unian.ua/ SBUThe Security Service of Ukraine demonstrated a new generation of sea unmanned platforms “Sea Baby”. As the SBU press service reported, these drones have already been tested in successful missions in the Black Sea. In particular, they were involved in the third attack on the Crimean bridge, which took place on June 3, 2025.
“Our drones changed the balance of forces in the Black Sea and proved their effectiveness. The new generation of Sea Baby is even more effective. That is why the work to clear the Black Sea of the Russian fleet will continue. The enemy will feel the full power of our technological developments,” said the head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk.
According to SBU Brigadier General Ivan Lukashevich (“Hunter”), during this year’s destruction of the Crimean bridge, “sea babies” delivered explosives to the right point, which blew up the supports of this illegal structure.
One of the heads of the military counterintelligence of the SBU, who oversees the activities of the 13 Main Directorate of the DVKR “Hunter”, said that the updated drones are capable of covering a distance of more than 1,500 km, carry up to 2,000 kg of cargo, have reinforced engines and a modern navigation system.
It is noted that the SBU demonstrated two drones with different weapons.
“The first is equipped with a gyro-stabilized machine gun installation, which has a system of auto-capture and target recognition. The second carries heavy weapons: a 10-charge rocket salvo rocket system “Grad”, – the message says.
Naval drones at warAs UNIAN reported, Russia is skeptical of small boats and maritime drones, which is why they receive minimal state support.
In particular, military expert Mykhailo Zhirokhov said that a kind of naval lobby has been formed in Russia over the years. “They are very proud of their navy, which has not won any battle. Maybe since the time of Ushakov in the 18th century,” he said.
Zhirokhov explained that military admirals always look at naval drones as toys, some misunderstanding, in their opinion, the main thing is a cruiser, corvette, destroyer.
