The situation with the power supply of Chernihiv after the Russian attack remains critical, and it is currently impossible to predict when electricity will be restored in the regional center, said the head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, on the evening of October 21.

According to the report, energy workers are working around the clock, “doing everything possible and impossible to restore electricity supply.” “Much of what is done by our energy workers cannot be made public,” writes the high-ranking official, who adds that critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to alternative power sources.

22 inviolability points have been deployed in the city, and they are manned by police officers and employees of the State Emergency Service. The utility company Chernihivvodokanal deployed water dispensing points near the points of invincibility. In the evening and at night, the police will patrol the streets of the city in an intensified mode.

On the evening of October 20, the Russian military struck the energy infrastructure in Chernihiv Oblast. As a result, power was cut off in Chernihiv and the northern part of the region.
