Former chairman of the board of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi commented on the searches conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday.
“I read in the news that I was allegedly served with suspicion. I want to say that no suspicions were handed to me, there was simply a search,” Kudrytskyi said in a comment to the EP.
According to him, investigative actions were carried out in two stages. The first search took place in the morning in his car without a court order. “A curious moment happened: my car was stopped by the police to check documents and asked to show Reserve Plus. When I unlocked my phone and showed it, they just took my phone and ran away. Then the SBI employees came, and they already had the phone unlocked,” he said.
Later, the investigators searched his apartment, but already with a court order.
Kudrytsky believes that the version of the law enforcement officers about the embezzlement of funds during the felling of the forest is not related to his activities. “In my opinion, the purpose of the investigative actions was to get access to the phone in order to see the messengers and find out with whom and what I was talking about. The law enforcement officers were activated at those moments when I had to go out in public,” he said.
The ex-head of Ukrenergo added that he associates the searches with political signals rather than procedural necessity. “I associate it not so much with some procedural necessity, but with certain greetings that someone probably wants to convey to me,” Kudrytskyi summarized.
