297 people’s deputies voted for this decision, as the people’s deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported.

This decision was actively promoted by the government “to avoid delays in the salaries of the military.” The deputies also supported instructing the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to immediately sign the draft law and send it to the president for signature.

Prior to that, the Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved changes to the 2025 Budget, which includes an increase in defense spending by 325 billion hryvnias. Of these, UAH 210.9 billion is for the Armed Forces, UAH 99.1 billion is the production and purchase of weapons and ammunition .

The state budget of Ukraine for 2026 will be a record in terms of expenditures — more than 4.7 trillion hryvnias, but revenues will cover only about 55% these costs.
