As informs reporter David Ornstein of The Athleticthe Portuguese’s current deal has a release clause of around £15m.
Despite the lack of detailed negotiations, the parties are positive. The club is keen to keep Silva at Craven Cottage, while the coach himself is focused on the team’s results for now. The current contract of the 48-year-old coach runs until the end of this season – it was extended in October 2023.
Marco Silva has been working at Fulham for five years. In his debut season, he won the Championship and returned the team to the Premier League, before keeping them in the top flight three times in a row – the first time in a decade. The best result under Silva’s leadership is 11th place and 54 points in the 2024/25 season, which became a club record in the Premier League.
The Portuguese coach has previously been linked with a potential move to Nottingham Forest, but Fulham are determined to do whatever it takes to keep him at the club.
