The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is conducting searches of a number of persons, including relatives of an official of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), as part of the proceedings regarding illegal enrichment and legalization of property obtained through crime, the press service of the SBU informed several Ukrainian media.

“The SBU, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, is conducting searches within the framework of one of the previously opened criminal proceedings regarding illegal enrichment and legalization (laundering) of property obtained through criminal means,” the special service informed.

The SBU noted that investigative and operational measures are being conducted against a number of persons, including relatives of the NABU official.

“All measures are carried out in strict compliance with the legislation of Ukraine,” the agency added.

Earlier today, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau announced that on Monday, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine searched the relatives of the bureau’s detective who, among other things, investigated the “Rotterdam+” case.

NABU added that it continues to perform its duties in accordance with the law, ensuring the inevitability of responsibility for corruption crimes, regardless of the positions and influence of those involved.
