In connection with the regular attacks of Russian drones on energy facilities, as of the morning of October 17, there are consumers in some areas without electricity supply. As soon as the security situation allowed, emergency and restoration work began. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore damaged equipment as soon as possible. “Ukrenergo” informs about this.
Due to the difficult situation in the energy system, in the cities of Kyiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as partially in Chernihiv, Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions, emergency shutdowns are currently applied. The reason for the introduction of restrictions is the consequences of previous Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure.
In Chernihiv Oblast, by order of Oblenergo, planned power outages of three phases have been introduced. This is the result of the enemy’s systematic attacks on the energy structure of the region during the previous few weeks. Emergency recovery measures in the region continue.
Also, in all regions of Ukraine from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. there are capacity limitation schedules for enterprises.
Volumes of electricity consumption remain at a high level. Today, October 17, at 6:30, it was similar to the previous day – Thursday. The reason is the preservation of gloomy and cool weather in most regions of Ukraine. Yesterday, October 16, the highest daily rate of consumption was recorded in the morning. It was 3.4% more than the largest indicator of the previous day – Wednesday, October 15. The reason for such changes is cooling in all regions of Ukraine.
How long planned emergency power outages will last – Ukrenergo’s forecast Emergency power outages in Ukraine may continue for another week. In some regions, the term may be longer. This was announced on October 16 by the head of Ukrenergo Vitaliy Zaichenko.
“Taking into account the current situation, it will be possible to stabilize it in a week,” Zaichenko said.
At the same time, he clarified that during the specified period, emergency shutdowns during peak hours are possible in some areas.
