Thus, eight accomplices of the Russian Federation were exposed in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions.
The task of those involved was to create cells of supporters of the Soviet Union in their regions and later use this nucleus to destabilize the situation on the ground.
“It has been established that they acted under the supervision of a faculty member of the Naval Academy from St. Petersburg,” the SBU said.
The participants created their own channels in Telegram and TikTok, where they were looking for like-minded people to join the so-called “organizing committee of the Ukrainian SSR”.
They also spread Soviet symbols on the network, campaigned for the creation of party “cells” and called to ignore Ukrainian legislation.
The extras were ideological supporters of racism, who expected a full occupation of Ukraine.
Linguistic expertise confirmed the facts of criminal actions aimed at destabilizing the socio-political situation inside Ukraine.
Smartphones and computer equipment, which they used to spread Kremlin propaganda, were seized during searches of the homes of the accused.
Eight cell organizers were notified of suspicion for:
- Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 109 (public calls for a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or for the seizure of state power, as well as distribution of materials calling for such actions, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy);
- ch. 1, 2 Art. 436-1 (production, distribution of communist and Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes committed by an organized group using mass media);
- ch. 1, 2, 3 st. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants, perpetrated by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy).
They face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, in the Lviv region, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a local resident who was collecting intelligence for Russian airstrikes.
