According to the press service of the department, they were exposed in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions.
According to the SBU, the task of these figures was to create cells of supporters of the Soviet Union in their regions and to further use this core to destabilize the situation on the ground, they acted under the supervision of a teacher of the department of the Naval Academy from St. Petersburg.
According to the Ukrainian special service, the individuals involved created their own channels in Telegram and TikTok, through which they searched for like-minded people to join the so-called “organizing committee of the Ukrainian SSR”, they also used social networks to spread Soviet symbols, campaigned for the creation of party “centers” and called to ignore Ukrainian legislation.
Based on the collected evidence, eight organizers of the Russian underground were notified of suspicion under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
h. 2 Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 109 (public calls for a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or for the seizure of state power, as well as distribution of materials calling for such actions, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy);
• ch. 1, 2 Art. 436-1 (production, distribution of communist and Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes committed by an organized group using mass media);
• ch. 1, 2, 3 st. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants, perpetrated by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy).
Ukrainian law enforcement officers regularly report the detention of persons they call Russian agents. They are suspected of treason, sabotage on the order of the Russian special services.
