“We will receive these 25 systems every year, different numbers in different years. The White House can change the queue if there is political will to do so. We understand which European countries can give us this queue priority. There is more positivity in this issue – we are currently working to get the necessary solutions,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
He also noted that key NATO member states in Europe have US-owned Patriot systems. Our country can also receive them, if there is “good will” and assistance in the White House.
It is assumed that the money needed for the purchase of 25 Patriot systems will come from the use of frozen Russian assets. The financial basis of this agreement has already been worked out.
“Of course, we also need to work on another financial source. We have 28 bilateral security agreements with countries today. Finding finance and paying the advance payment is the task, and within the limits of these agreements it is realistic,” said the head of state.
At the end of September President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Israeli Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex is already on combat duty in Ukraine. He also added that in the fall our country will receive two more such systems from the allies.
