Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have predicted that Russia may intensify its attacks to degrade Ukraine’s energy infrastructure ahead of the coming winter.
In recent weeks, the Russian military has intensified its shelling of the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season.
In August, the Ministry of Energy reported that since March 2025, Russian forces have carried out more than 2,900 attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
