It is known that in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions since the beginning of the war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed 11 assault actions of the Russian army, and two more clashes are ongoing. In addition, the Russian military carried out two airstrikes, dropping six guided aerial bombs, and also carried out 129 attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces and populated areas, one of which was from a rocket salvo system.
“In the Yuzhno-Slobozhansk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units 10 times near the settlements of Vovchansk, Tykh, Kam’yanka and in the direction of Dvorichansky and Bolohivka. The General Staff added that 17 times in the direction of Kostyantynivka, the forces of the Russian Federation attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Oleksandr-Shultyny, Shcherbinivka, Toretsk, Pleshchiivka, Rusyny Yar, Sofiivka, and Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks.
“In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have tried to advance on the positions of Ukrainian units 53 times. The enemy tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Novoeconomichne, Chervyn Liman, Myrnograd, Sukhy Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Filia, Promin, Lysivka, Molodetske, Dachne and in the direction of Novopavlivka. In four locations, the fighting has not subsided until now,” the Ukrainian command reported.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces liberated 182.8 square kilometers on the territory of the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region, and another 230.1 square kilometers were cleared.
British intelligence has reiterated that Pokrovsk is likely to remain a priority for Russia, with the largest share of Russian attacks there compared to the rest of the front line.
On October 16, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Ukrainian defenders had liberated 182.8 square kilometers of the territory of the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region.
