Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer wrote his name in the history of German football, becoming the sole leader in the number of victories in the Bundesliga. The victory over Borussia Dortmund in Saturday’s “Klasiker” was his 363rd in his career in Germany’s top division.

The new record was set in Neuer’s 530th match in the championship. He started his way to the record back in August 2006, when he made his debut for Schalke with a clean sheet victory over Alemannia (1:0). ​

The Bayern captain has won a huge number of accolades during his illustrious career, including 12 Bundesliga titles, the most recent of which was won in the 2024/25 season. With Neuer’s contract with the club running until the end of June 2026, he has every chance to significantly increase his gap to his pursuers.

It is worth noting that the previous record holder, Thomas Müller, who is now in second place, left Bayern in August and joined the Canadian club Vancouver Whitecaps. Regarding plans for the future, Neuer himself leaves intrigue.

“The club and I wanted to extend the contract for just one more year, and then we’ll see if it’s time to end my career,” the goalkeeper said after extending his contract in February.
