The only goal of the game was scored by Ange-Joan Bonny in the 6th minute after a precise pass from Nicolo Barella. In the future, Roma was able to level the game and repeatedly troubled Inter goalkeeper Jan Sommer. Dybala, Hermoso and Sule had their chances, but each time lacked precision or confidence.
In the 55th minute, Ukrainian attacker Artem Dovbyk entered the field and immediately added aggression to the attack of the “wolves”. In the 59th minute, he could equalize the score after serving from the standard – the header was strong, but the ball flew slightly over the crossbar. The Ukrainian had another chance in the 88th minute – Dovbyk shot into the left corner, but Sommer saved Inter with a brilliant save.
Inter defended well and counter-attacked, creating a number of chances through Lautaro, Dumfries and Bastogne, but there were no more goals in the match.
Thanks to this victory, Inter topped the Serie A standings with 15 points after seven rounds. Roma have the same number of points, but due to worse additional indicators, the team is currently in third place.
