The meeting between Trump and Zelensky lasted more than two hours. According to the media, the Ukrainian delegation brought to the White House maps showing the “pain points” of the Russian defense industry and military economy.

Earlier, Trump confirmed that the possible supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine will be discussed at the meeting. However, he did not say whether he had made a decision on this.
“We need Tomahawks ourselves, but we also need to end this war…We think it’s better to end this war without Tomahawks, I think we’re close to that,” the US president said.
The Tomahawk missile, produced by RTX, has a range of up to 1,000 miles (over 1,600 kilometers), which significantly exceeds the capabilities of the American ATACMS multiple-launch missile systems (about 190 miles), which are actively used by the Armed Forces. The Tomahawk has greater speed and combat power compared to Ukrainian drones, which are capable of striking deep into Russian territory, but often encounter modern air defense systems.

Ukraine has been asking partners for long-range weapons over the past year. Kyiv is also trying to develop its own long-range solutions, in particular the Palyanitsa and Flamingo systems, but they do not have the same combat characteristics as the Tomahawk.
