The initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko, during a meeting with the head of the government of Slovakia, Robert Fico.
According to Svyridenko, the technical synchronization of the energy systems of Ukraine and Slovakia will allow not only a stable supply of resources, but also to minimize risks for the energy infrastructure of both states. “We can technically combine our systems to guarantee reliable supplies to Slovakia and create a regional energy hub. I hope that we will have the opportunity to discuss this proposal in detail in the near future,” the Prime Minister said.
The project envisages the creation of a centralized platform for coordinating the supply of energy resources, which will allow a quick response to any changes in the market and ensure the stability of energy supply for all of Central Europe. In addition, the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of infrastructure development, modernization of pipelines and increasing the transit of energy resources through the territory of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, announced his country’s readiness to discuss the issue of restoring the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine.
Ukraine can resume gas transit from Russia, but only if it is not of Russian origin.
Earlier, Zelenskyi declaredthat Ukraine did not refuse gas transit from Azerbaijan to Europe.
