The head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure, Serhii Sukhomlyn, expressed his desire to pass a polygraph in order to refute the massive accusations of some people’s deputies regarding the theft of reconstruction funds.
He informed about this in an interview with Glavkom.
“I wrote a statement to NABU with a request to take a polygraph. Ask anything you want: did he take bribes from contractors, or are my relatives involved in this… The Anti-Corruption Bureau refused, referring to “the absence of legal grounds for conducting a polygraph investigation” (NABU’s response to Sukhomlyn’s request for some reason has the label “For official use” and cannot be published), Sukhomlyn said.
At NABU, the head of the State Recovery Agency received a refusal, after which he turned to the Anti-Corruption Initiative of the European Union in Ukraine. Currently, there is a positive answer, in particular, the internationals will check 20 employees of the State Agency for Reconstruction together with Serhiy Sukhomlin on the “lie detector”.
Previously, the State Agency, together with the Ministry of Development, undertook five pilot projects of complex rehabilitation – the reconstruction of the already mentioned Borodyanka and Posad-Pokrovsky, as well as the settlements of Trostyanets in the Sumy region, Tsyrkuny in the Kharkiv region, and Yagidne in the Chernihiv region.
As of today, the level of readiness of objects with the highest degree of protection, which are installed at substations, has approached 54%, noted the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure Serhiy Sukhomlin. We are talking about the third level of protection, namely against missile and aircraft damage.
Earlier, the State Agency for Reconstruction denied the statement of the mayor of Kyiv about the financing of shelters.
“A few days ago, we heard statements from Kyiv that the city allocated UAH 2.1 billion to the agency for the construction of defenses for strategic objects. There is no money, there wasn’t, and I think there won’t be any,” the head of the agency said.
According to Sukhomlin, the agency has repeatedly informed the city about its readiness to participate in the construction of shelters, in accordance with the relevant government resolution No. 522 of April 26, 2024, according to which the agency can be involved in such projects.
The head of the agency noted that all substations protected by the restoration agency have withstood the impact of enemy weapons and continue to work.
It will be recalled that the former mayor of Zhytomyr, Seryi Sukhomlyn, was appointed the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine in September 2024.
