As part of his visit to the United States of America, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with representatives of the American defense company Raytheon. It produces, in particular, Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.
The head of state announced this in Telegram.
During the meeting, Zelensky informed his partners about the situation at the front and the strengthening of Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure. The parties discussed the company’s production capabilities, potential areas of cooperation to strengthen the air defense system of Ukraine and increase its long-range capabilities.
The President also noted that there are concrete solutions that can strengthen the protection of Ukrainian citizens, and Ukraine is working at all levels to ensure their implementation.
“I thank Raytheon for its willingness to continue to support Ukraine,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
Patriot is an American medium and long-range anti-aircraft missile system developed by Raytheon. The system is designed to intercept and destroy aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles at long distances and uses modern radars and high-precision missiles capable of hitting targets at an altitude of several tens of kilometers.
Patriot is considered one of the most effective air defense systems in the world and is actively used by the armies of the United States and NATO allies.
It will be recalled that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi appealed to the US President Donald Trump with a request for the supply of anti-aircraft systems, long-range missiles and urgent energy assistance, offering a number of mutually beneficial conditions.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, noted that even the very conversation about the possible transfer of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine already has an impact on Russia — as soon as Moscow learned about it, it immediately began to look for ways to restore dialogue.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressed his belief that the strengthening of the country and the support of international partners are bringing the end of the war with Russia closer.
