In the second round, the Ukrainian lost to the representative of Kazakhstan in three sets Yelena Rybakiniy (WTA 9) in 2 hours and 48 minutes.

In the second game, Dayana won the tiebreak with 4:6, not allowing her opponent to realize two match points. Unfortunately, Yelena was stronger in the third set.
Yastremska played her third head-to-head match against Rybakina and suffered her third defeat. All three meetings took place in 2025. In January, Diana lost to Yelena in the 1/16 finals of the Australian Open, and in August she lost to her in the 1/8 finals of the WTA 1000 in Montreal.
Diana managed to beat Victoria Mboko on the Ningbo courts, defeating the Canadian in two sets in the first round.
Rybakina will compete against Australian Ayla Tomlyanovich (WTA 104) in the Ningbo quarterfinals.
