The State Bureau of Investigation and the police exposed and detained two officials of the territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCC) of the Zaporizhzhia region, who demanded a bribe from a war veteran for putting him on the military register, the SBI reports.
According to the investigation, the deputy head of one regional TCC and his accomplice from another center demanded $2,000 from a former military serviceman, promising to issue the documents “without delay.”
The veteran recently returned from the Kharkiv direction and applied to the TCC to go through the standard accounting procedure, but encountered demands for money and threats to declare him wanted and send him to the front again.
The second figure offered the services of an intermediary, claiming that he could influence a colleague. The perpetrators were caught red-handed while handing over the bribe. The deputy head of the TCC tried to escape, throwing money out of the car, but was detained by law enforcement officers.
Both were notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (soliciting and obtaining illegal benefits), which provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Also, border guards in Izmail eliminated a new scheme of illegal crossing of the border by conscripts through the Danube by underwater route.
We will remind you that the organizer of the scheme for transporting evaders for $12,000 was detained in Kyiv.
