Real Madrid is considering a possible transfer of Porto goalkeeper Diogo Kosta in the event of the departure of Ukrainian Andrii Lunin. This was reported by the Spanish media Bernabeu Digital.

Costa is not the only candidate for the role of backup Thibaut Courtois. First of all, the club is hoping for its own pupil – 20-year-old Fran Gonzalez, who currently plays for Real Castilla. However, in case of need for a more experienced option, Madrid are ready to bet on the Portuguese.

This summer, Diogo Costa was already on the shortlist of Manchester City, but the transfer did not take place. Porto previously declared their readiness to sell the player for 75 million euros.

Meanwhile, the situation with Lunin remains uncertain. The Ukrainian still cannot break through to the base of Real Madrid, where Thibaut Courtois is always in the first position. The lack of game practice is hampering Lunin’s development, and the club expects him to make a decision about his future soon.

Real Madrid currently lead the La Liga standings, two points ahead of Barcelona. Xabi Alonso’s team will play their next match on October 19 away against Getafe.
