The Italian was penalized for leaving the technical area to celebrate Estevan’s 95th-minute winner with his team. This was Mareska’s second yellow card — and automatic expulsion.
“It was alleged that the manager acted inappropriately, used abusive or obscene language and behaved in an unsportsmanlike manner around the 96th minute,” the FA said in a statement.
Maresca admitted the violation and accepted the standard punishment – a one-match suspension.
In the 9th round of the Premier League, Chelsea will play away against Nottingham Forest. The match will take place on October 18 at 14:30 Kyiv time.
