The Vice president of the European Commission, Gena Virkunen, told this in an interview with UNIAN.
She noted that in Europe there are already common weapons, such as Bravetech EU. According to her, this program was used by the Europeans, lessons raised from the Ukrainian State Program for Supporting Innovative Developments in the Brave1 weapons.
“And there we also share experiences and look for opportunities how we can cooperate with startups, especially in the areas where we are very focused now – of course, these are drones and means of counteracting drones,” says Genna Virkunen.
Vice president noted that this week, the European Commission will adopt a road readiness for 2030, where the eastern flank will be one of the priority areas. It will be part of the so -called “wall of drones”, designed to fight Russian UAVs.
“We are also striving for cooperation, for example, in the field of robotic vehicles that I think we have been carefully tested in Ukraine. And also, for example, in the field of cybersecurity, where we are working closely with Ukraine, and in the field of radio electronic struggle,” Genna Vikunen said.
Vice president reminded that Europe has already launched a SAFE tool with a loan of € 150 billion for EU Member States, which can be used to support our country.
“And already 13 of our Member States in their first speech stated that they will also use this funding for Ukraine,” Genna Virkunen added.
Exports of Ukrainian weapons is the main thing Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine launches “managed export” of weapons. These are samples that are made in sufficient quantities. For the proceeds, it is planned to finance the production of scarce weapons.
According to experts, our country has excess drones that can be exported. The Ukrainian defense drones can start producing drones for export this year.
Domestic samples are expected to be interested in Western countries, in particular, the United States. It is possible that weapons will also be exported to Africa and Latin America.
