Trump considers Erdogan to be his friend / photo ua.depositphotos.comUS President Donald Trump said that in his opinion, Turkish President Recep TaiP Erdogan could help in the end of the war in Ukraine. He stated this while communicating with journalists on board Air Force One.
Trump stressed that Erdogan has a good relationship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“Yes, Erdogan can. It is respected by Russia. I can’t tell you about Ukraine, but Putin respects him,” Trump said.
He called Erdogan his friend, noting that he “gets along with only strong, not weak,” and stressed that he had a good relationship with him.
“You know when NATO has problems with Erdogan, which often happens, they call me and ask me to talk to him. And I have never failed – everything is solved literally instantly,” the head of state said.
Trump and war in UkraineEarlier, Trump hinted that after the peace agreement on the Gaza, he was going to settle the war in Ukraine.
“We have to deal with Russia. If you do not mind, Steve (US Presidential Special Supporter Steve Witcoff – UNIAN), we should focus on Russia. We will understand,” the US President said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the Tomahawk missile is not excluded to Ukraine. According to him, if the war in Ukraine is not settled, then Washington will send these missiles.
At the same time, he said that such a step would lead to an even greater escalation of war. He added that he may first discuss this issue with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
