According to the department, the date of heat supply in the house of Ukrainians is not displaced and will continue to depend on the air temperature.
“The heating season in Ukraine will begin planned. The government has approved all the relevant resolutions to ensure the conditions for this,” the ministry noted.
Earlier, a number of Ukrainian media with reference to the Cabinet resolution of October 8 reported that in Ukraine they had changed the terms of the heating season. It seems that the terms of heat supply to budgetary institutions and housing buildings are shifted for the period from November 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, while the deadlines were expected from October 15 to April 15.
At the same time, as explained in the Ministry of Energy, the terms specified in the decree relate to the imposition of special responsibilities on the subjects of the natural gas market, that is, the supply of gas for heating of residential buildings at a fixed price (7420 UAH per 1000 cubic meters).
“Government Resolution on the Payment of Special Responsibilities (PSOs) in the Gas Market, which indicates the date of November 1, 2025, has nothing to do with the actual launch of heating in homes. PSO conditions provide for the continuation of the fixation of natural gas prices for the population after October 31, 2025 by March 3126 ( Natural gas supply, ” – added in the department.
It should be noted that the date of beginning of heat supply to the homes of Ukrainians is set by local authorities, depending on the temperature.
“We remind that the decision to start and end the heating period is made by local governments on their own. Heat is given taking into account the average daily temperature of the region, if it is kept below +8 ℃ more than 3 days,” – summed up in the Ministry of Energy.
Heating season 2025 – Main newsAgainst the backdrop of Russians in energy facilities in several cities, they warned about the complex heating season. In particular, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkov said that in winter it could turn off light and gas. The head of the city did not exclude shutdown of gas for several neighborhoods.
For his part, the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services, the experts of housing and communal services Alexei Kucherenko stated that against the background of Russian blows on the energy of the start of the heating season will try to delay as much as possible.
Meanwhile, in Lviv, the heating season has already been delayed for several weeks. The mayor of the city Andriy Sadovy urged Lviv to provide themselves with alternative sources of heat and help those who will not cope on their own.
At the same time, on October 2, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko announced the start of the heating season for hospitals and kindergartens since October 3. According to him, the beginning of the heating season for the housing stock will depend on the air temperature.
