The Kyiv Court recognized the former player of Kyiv Dynamo and the national team of Ukraine Alexander Aliyev guilty of driving a vehicle in a state of intoxication. The football player was fined for 17 thousand hryvnias and received a ban on driving for one year.
According to the case file, on April 12, Aliyev was stopped by the police because of suspicion of drunk driving and refusing to undergo a medical examination at the spot, which violated traffic rules.
The lawyer of the former player insisted that the case should be closed due to the lack of an event and the administrative offense, but received a refusal.
The court acknowledged that law enforcement officers acted under the law and had the right to stop Aliyev’s car. The reason is the violation of traffic rules, rides and stops in the lane for public transport.
The decision of the capital court Aliyev will be able to appeal within ten days of the sentence.
