Neurosurgeon was presented with suspicion of improper performance of professional duties, reported in the Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, in April 2023, the doctor performed surgery to the patient. After the procedure, the woman complained of a state of health, but the doctor did not provide her proper assistance.
“He did not conduct a proper examination and did not prescribe the necessary treatment. In order to hide postoperative complications, the doctor performed the blockade of trigger points that hid the symptoms of the inflammatory process in the area of the postoperative wound”– added to the prosecutor’s office.
Law enforcement officers found that the woman later appealed, but the doctor again improperly assessed her condition and results of the examinations.
In the end, the patient died, and her doctor was informed of suspicion under Article 140 (1) of the Criminal Code – the improper performance of professional duties by a healthcare professional, which caused grave consequences.
