Due to improper storage conditions, Russian combat vehicles are damaged and the engines are damaged.

Changes on the basis of storage of tanks in the Kostroma region of the Russian Federation / Photo @jompyChanges on the basis of storage of tanks in the Kostroma region of the Russian Federation / Photo @jompyRussian troops intensified the reconciliation of the BMP on the 111st central base of the tank reserve in the Kostroma region. About it reports the portal “Military”.

The satellite images shown by the Jompy military analyst can see significant changes in the object.

It is evident that infantry fighting vehicles are actively removed from the base. They are sent either to recovery or disassembled into donor spare parts for other compounds.

According to analysts due to long -standing open -air, some cars are in a critical state:

“Corrosion of housing, spoiled devices, damaged engines and control systems significantly reduce the combat capacity of the equipment.”

It is noted that the 111st central database of the tank reserve (in/h 42857) is one of the key places of storage of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is located near the city of Bui in the Kostroma region and is subordinate to the Central Military District.

“The base is strategic, because it is here that most of the reserve of armored vehicles is concentrated, which the Russian army is actively preparing for departure to the front,” the article reads.

There is evidence that as of 2022, there were 307 relatively capable tanks, of which 61 were stored under cover. Another 561 units were taken to the reserve, and 207 tanks were prepared for utilization. In total, 1075 tanks and 360 tanks in hangars.

The portal provides data from analysts, which recorded a sharp reduction in the number of machines in open parking lots after the start of a full -scale invasion. In 2021 there were more than 800 tanks on the territory of the base. In 2023 there were only a few hundred, much of which is not suitable for use. By mid -2024, some of the equipment was taken out or dismantled into spare parts.

“Activation of work on the 111st base indicates Russia’s attempts to compensate for the large losses of armored vehicles at the front at the expense of old stocks, despite their technical condition”, the authors conclude.

More about satellite observation for the Russian FederationRecall that thanks to satellite images, analysts saw the protective structures that Russians build on a nuclear landfill on the archipelago of a new land. It is at a distance of more than 2500 km from the Ukrainian borders. The nets should probably protect the fuel systems from the possible attack of drones against the background of constant blows to the refinery and military facilities.

Satellite images also helped to establish that Russia has begun to be pulled on the “Uralvagonzavod” copies of old tanks. Already there you can see hundreds of old buildings. Analysts say that Russians can remove from storage and deliver thousands of old buildings to restore.
