However, he was taken out of the clinic in shackles.
The circumstances of the detention of Parata Manjgladze and Lasha Beridze are unknown.
What preceded this:
- The day before, local elections took place in Georgia, the CEC declared a confident victory for the governing “Georgian Dream”.
- At the same time, some of the opposition was holding a rally in the center of the capital, declaring plans for “peaceful overthrow of power”. Protesters, in particular, tried to occupy the Presidential Palace.
