According to the prosecution, the producer forced his partners for several years – the singer Casandra Venture and another woman known as Jane’s pseudonym – to participate in sexual performances, called “Freak Offs”.
According to the case file, the Kombs personally filmed these acts on video, used drugs and masturbated. For these crimes, he was threatened with a maximum period of 20 years in prison.
At the same time, the jury justified him for more serious charges of racketeering and sex trading, for which Didy could receive life imprisonment.
Kombs lawyers acknowledged that he used physical force to his partners, but insisted that their participation in sexual performances was voluntary. The defense asked for 14 months of imprisonment, while the prosecutor’s office insisted on a minimum of 11 years.
Following the announcement of the sentence, lawyer Mark Agnifilo told reporters that the Kombs did not admit himself guilty and appeal to the court’s decision.
