Turkey builds the largest in Europe production center of air defense systems

Vlad Cherevko I have been interested in all kinds of electronics and technologies since the early 2000s. I like to play computer games and understand the work of different gadgets. I regularly monitor the news of the technology in the world and write materials about it.

In Turkey, the implementation of a large -scale project for the creation of a technological base for the production of air defense systems is started. The object that is erected in the capital of the country, Ankara, will become the largest production center of air defense systems in Europe after completion. The Turkish Defense Company Aselsan reported this to the publication of Ukrinform.

According to the company, investments in the project will be about $ 1.5 billion. The building will have 735 thousand square meters of closed areas and will be located in a campus of 6.5 million square meters. The first production lines are planned to be put into operation by mid -2026.

The new base will be the main platform for the production and integration of a multi -level national system of air -and -missile defense of Turkey, known as “Steel Dome”. It will develop and produce key complexes, including Si̇Per, Hi̇sar and Korkut, as well as Murad Aesa radar, ALP and PUHU subsystems, radio electronic wrestling, control systems and electrical management systems.

In addition to production capacity, the base will function as a complex defense campus. It includes research laboratories, integration and test centers, as well as infrastructure to support the life cycle of products.

According to Aselsan, the object will be a platform for the development of new solutions in the field of radar, intellectual ammunition, communication technologies and the use of artificial intelligence in the defense industry.

We recently reported that Russia proposes Turkey to buy back the C-400 complexes, which Ankara purchased in 2017 for $ 2.5 billion and received in 2019. It is reported that Turkey can agree to this step, because the country develops its own system “steel dome” in parallel, which reduces dependence on Russian technologies.
