President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a number of decrees on the assignment of new military ranks to the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The documents were published on September 30, 2025.
Thus, according to Decree No. 717/2025, the military rank of Major General was received by the commander of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces Gennady Shapovalov, who had previously occupied the rank of brigade general.
By decree №718/2025, the President awarded the military rank of brigade General Yuri Raltsev – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Command of Land Forces, who had previously had the rank of colonel.
In addition, according to Decree No. 719/2025, the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Eugene Ostryansky was awarded the military rank of Major General. He used to be a brigade general.
Accordingly, the military rank of brigade general was received by the commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Operational Command “East” of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces Andriy Biletsky.
Thus, the leadership of the Ukrainian Land Forces and the General Staff received another strengthening in the highest officer.
