Saul Alvarese will undergo surgery after defeat from Crawford

Former Absolute World Champion in the Second Medium Light (up to 76.2 kg), Mexican Saul Alvarez (63–3–2, 39 KO) will not be able to return to the ring in February 2026. This was reported by the authoritative insider of The Ring Mike Kopinger.

According to the source, after the last battle, Kanelo felt discomfort in the elbow and now forced to undergo surgery. Initially, the Mexican planned to enter the ring in four months, but now his return will have to be postponed – the boxer will take more time to recover completely.

Alvarez went to the ring on the night of September 14 in Las Vegas in a duel against the American Terens Crawford and gave way to a unanimous decision of the judges. The Mexican lost the titles of WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF.
