These developments change the global landscape of energy. For Ukraine, which fights for independence and rebuilds infrastructure, it is important not to stay away and look for your place in the innovative chains of the future.
Solar panels based on perovskit Lightflexible and effective. In thin-digging perovskite PV technologies, about 26.7%reach efficiency. They reduce the cost of materials and production, opening up opportunities for installing in the building and mobile devices. By 2030 such panels can take up 10-15% of the solar energy market.
How is it working? Perovskit solar panels function on the basis of the interaction of sunlight with a thin layer of hybrid organo-neorganic material based on halides of lead or tin. This technology offers a more accessible alternative to traditional silicon solar panels.
Perovskit solar elements rapidly reach the stage of energy innovation. They are refined by leading centers. Researchers from Kaust and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin have reached a record efficiency-31.2%-thanks to the technology of the blade application.
Scientists from Advanced Technology Institute University of Surrey have extended the battery life by 66%, and the Hong Kong City University team created 25%efficiency elements that store 95%efficiency after 2 thousand hours of work.
Both big companies and governments are interested in technology. Chinese GCl Group Holdings brings the world’s largest perovskit batteries in the world. American Swift Solar plans to launch production in two to three years, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (Meti) intends to introduce 20 GW capacities on the basis of perovskit technologies by 2040.
Quantum dots in solar panels These nanoparticles are able to increase the efficiency of solar panels, capturing a wider spectrum of light.
American company First Solar From Arizona comes out to a new Technology level. She has announced a long-term partnership with UBIQD with New Mexico-a startup specializing in advanced materials. The purpose of cooperation is to scale the quantum points in the solar panels, which can be a breakthrough for the US renewable energy sector.
After a few years of Laboratory tests, First Solar plans to add a special layer of quantum points from UBIQD to their thin -sided panels. This will allow to capture light from the earth more effectively. The commercial introduction of technology is planned for 2026 and this step is called the greatest impetus for the development of quantum innovations in solar energy.
Evapolectricity – evaporation generation Unique technologythat converts moisture evaporation into electricity by means of a thermoelectric element and hydrogel.
Scientists from Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have developed a tiny device that converts heat from evaporation of moisture from air to electricity. This industry is known as Hydrocarbonwhich aims to transform moisture into energy. The attractiveness of this approach is obvious: the wind and the sun appear and disappear, and moisture is everywhere and always.
How is it working? Evapoelectric generator It consists of porous hydrogel made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and a thermoelectric generator. When the water evaporates from the gel, it cools the upper surface. The temperature difference between the cooler upper part and the warmer base generates electricity by means of a thermoelectric effect – no sunlight is required.
Space solar energy Solar stations on Orbit can generate energy without technological restrictions that are characteristic of earthly conditions. Studies show that space solar systems can provide up to 80% of Europe by 2050, reducing energy costs by 15%. How is it working?
Space solar panels (SBSP), which have produced positive results, use a heliostructure. The design imitated by the system uses mirror reflectors to collect sunlight in orbit. Then sunlight is transmitted to the station on Earth and converted to electricity.
Land renewable energy has a weak link: it is dependent on the weather and may not always guarantee a stable supply of electricity. Different generation cost is added to this. That is why scientists pay attention to space solar energy. Its main advantage is work outside the atmosphere, where there is neither night nor clouds. This allows you to obtain continuous power on the scale of the gigawatts and consider Sbsp as a future centralized source of “pure” energy.
The place of Ukraine in the new energy Although these innovations are tested in technologically developed countries, Ukraine as one of the key IT states can play one of the leading roles in global chains through the involvement in the production of perovskit panels. These production processes are simpler and cheaper than to produce traditional panels. This is due to the use of cheaper materials and simpler methods of applying perovcitis.
What can we do right now? The most promising for Ukraine is the use of Perovskite-Room Tandem SES. Their efficiency reaches 31% with scalable methods of application. These are roof and facade solutions for hospitals, schools and logistics. Close ties with Japan will allow you to attract Japanese investors and technologies to establish production in Ukraine.
For Ukraine, which simultaneously restores the destroyed infrastructure and fights for its independence, investing in energy innovations is a strategic need. The sooner we put resources there, the faster we will ensure our sustainability, energy security and a place among the leaders of the new “green” agenda.
