On September 25, a match of the 1/16 Finals of the Italian Cup of the season-2025/26 was held at Luigi Ferraris Stadium, in which Genoa won Empoli with a score of 3: 1 and released the next round of the competition.
The Ukrainian forward Empoli Bogdan Popov came out in the starting lineup, but failed to score and was replaced in the 59th minute. His countryman Ruslan Malinovsky remained in the stock of Genoa and did not go out on the field.
