The Ukrainian delegation is headed by Viceremier-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, and it includes representatives of the Ministry of Economy, State Fisheries and People’s Deputies.
During September 25-26, the Ukrainian side represents how its legislation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture meets the standards of the European Union. The meetings discuss such issues as the principles of joint EU fishing policy, control over catching, combating illegal fishing, and data management.
According to this screening, a plan of further implementation of the EU regulations in Ukrainian legislation will be drawn up, which will be the next stage on the way to Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation and the European Commission completed screening meetings in Brussels under the negotiation section 11 “Agriculture and development of rural areas”. Within three days, Ukraine presented 28 thematic blocks, demonstrating progress in approaching its legislation to EU standards.
Ukraine has also completed screening of three talking clusters as part of negotiations on joining the European Union. It is a cluster 1 “Fundamentals”, cluster 2 “Inner market” and cluster 6 “External relations”.
Ukraine also completed the official screening of compliance with EU legislation within the negotiation section “Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy”.
