FIFA President Gianni Infantino, having received the award from the famous Atlantic Council organization, made a speech on peace, including mentioning Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“My message is very simple now. Unfortunately, we live in a divided and aggressive world. I get bad when I see the suffering of people, and especially children. I want to cry when I see the tears of mothers. And it does not matter where the mother cries – in Ukraine, Sudan, the Gaza Sector or other point in the world. ”
“Currently, more than 80 countries are in the area of military conflicts. We need peace. How to do it? If I knew, I would have done already. But I believe that we all need to work on it. I hope the World Cup in 2026 will bring more peace and harmony, ”said infantino.
