In Lviv region, a fine was awarded to two border guards who missed two evidences

In the court register published in September 2025, the resolution stated that inspectors Pavel Z. and Sergey K. On July 11 joined the border patrol. Due to the “poor organization of service” that day, two men were able to illegally cross the border with Poland outside the checkpoint.

Upon illegal crossing of the border, the evidence was conducted by an official investigation, which showed that inspectors committed violations of the rules of service (Part 2 of Article 172-18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Both inspectors provided written explanations in which they pleaded guilty.

Judge Igor Matviyev considered administrative protocols against both inspectors, pleading guilty of violating the rules of service. Pavel Z. and Sergey K. have to pay 17 thousand UAH a fine. Resolutions can still be appealed.

Governments are proposed to impose criminal liability for attempting to escape to the Russian Federation or Union countries. The corresponding bill is registered on the Parliament’s website.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk doubt that parliament will approve the law on Increasing responsibility for the illegal crossing of the border.
